BOLD 3PL Impacting Community through Meals on Wheels

BOLD 3PL stands upon a foundation of core values, the first of these being a ‘Passion for Family and Community.’ Our work with Meals on Wheels illustrates our commitment as we deliver meals every Wednesday to the elders in our community who no longer have the ability to shop or cook for themselves. “We love the Hutchinson community and want to do our part in making it better every day. Bold originated in Hutchinson and many of our employees are longtime residents,” stated Darren Barnes, CFO. “We strive to do our part in making Hutchinson better tomorrow than it is today.”

Our associates are given the opportunity to take part in supporting those in need, resulting in a large part of our team choosing to make a difference in the lives of seniors across Hutchinson, Ks. Gloria Holtz, Director of Meals on Wheels said, “I appreciate the businesses that choose to donate their time to deliver meals and have conversations with those who are unable to leave their homes. BOLD immediately took to the process and ran with it! You can tell they really enjoy helping… Meals on Wheels could not be done without my volunteers!”

Thomias Jackson, facility lead at our 4th street location commented, “I very much enjoy Meals on Wheels for its structure and convenience to help the community… Gloria and her team have made the routes very efficient by taking the addresses and putting them in order from closest to farthest so there is no back and forth driving. Wonderful team and people to volunteer for!”

As a company, BOLD makes it a priority to take part in these opportunities because of the impact it has on our community. By volunteering, we are not only delivering food but also feeding the spirits of those we touch as one in three older adults report feeling isolated from others. “Darren and I are pleased that we have leaders at Bold that are intentionally choosing to serve others and “pursue the well-being” of Hutchinson.” said Bart Kooiman, COO.

Facility Lead Chandell Hayden took part in handing out meals and later stated, “I enjoyed getting to take lunch to the Wednesday route and get to know them a little bit. I may have been the only person they talked to that day, so my goal was to help fill their bellies and their hearts.” “It’s infectious! You see others volunteering and coming back in high spirits and it makes you want to be a part of it too!” commented Intern Allison Bateman.

Here at BOLD, we are committed to having each other’s back, whether that is in the community or in the warehouse.
